She was in the air when they started she would not touch the grass when she slowed down.
Eventually, one end or the other of the 'trajectory' would end up putting the victim on the ground. It may be a soft landing or it may be a bit harder (broken bones harder). Yes, she would eventually (when all the energy is used up) end up back in the air where she started, but not before that contact with the ground.

I have never tried either,but to jump off a bridge hundreds of feet in the air,would scare me to death.That looks fun! I've tried to vertical version before, but horizontal looks better!
